The Foundation: Louisiana Flood Donations Double in One Week

Through the CUAid effort, donations to the National Credit Union Foundation relief effort for credit unions affected by flooding in Louisiana has doubled in one week, according to a recent announcement.

Now being called the worst natural disaster since Hurricane Sandy four years ago, eight days of storms inundated Louisiana with 7 trillion gallons of water.

“It’s remarkable that the credit union community heard the renewed call for help, and we’ve now doubled the amount of funds to support those credit union people in need,” said Christopher Morris, Foundation communications director.
