One Month Left to Contribute to Credit Unions for Kids Auction at MAXX

This year’s Credit Unions for Kids gala auction is set to be a memorable one, as the charity celebrates three decades since starting right here in the Northwest. Already, an impressive amount of credit unions from all across the Northwest have donated time, talent and auction items, and with only two months to go, the deadline is fast-approaching to participate.

Some, like Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, have worked to provide auction items like a dinner with Seattle Seahawks great, and Hall of Famer, Steve Largent. Jason Elliott of SMCU and member of the Credit Unions for Kids Auction Committee, worked to secure the dinner with Steve Largent, in addition to some priceless sports memorabilia.

“Anything we can do to drive more support to Credit Unions for Kids, the better,” Elliott said. “This is a great opportunity for all Northwest credit unions to come together in one place to show the impact they have in their communities.”

First Tech Federal Credit Union has also organized heavily in support of the auction, putting together a basket drive to provide auction items. Monique Little, First Tech’s Chief People Officer, described their work:

“Our employees are passionate about giving back to our communities – and that’s why we provide them with a few opportunities to support Credit Unions for Kids throughout the year, including our annual giving campaign and support of the auction. The basket drive brings teams together in the spirit of creativity (and sometimes, competition!) to raise funds for an important cause, and reinforces that each and every donation makes a difference for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”

There are convenient drop off locations all around the Northwest and credit unions can also bring their items directly to the MAXX Convention.

NWCUA Community Manager Carmen Vigil noted that for any live auction items to be included in the program, information must be submitted via the donation form by September 16. Credit unions looking to donate can submit their information here.

The Hollywood Glamour Gala and Auction is selling out fast, but if you act now you can still get a table or an individual seat. Several sponsorship opportunities are still available for those who want to stand firmly behind Northwest credit unions’ support of the children of Oregon and Washington.
