The Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) Board of Directors election cycle has concluded with three very well qualified and engaged credit union leaders stepping forward to serve.
“I am pleased to announce that Bert Fisher, President/CEO of Our Community Credit Union (Shelton, WA), and Mina Worthington, President/CEO of Solarity Credit Union (Yakima, WA), will continue their Board service for another three years,” Troy Stang, NWCUA President and CEO, said after.
Stang went on to acknowledge Parker Cann, SVP/Corporate Counsel of BECU (Tukwila, WA), who will retire later this year and step away from the Board.
“We wish Parker the best and send him off with the deepest admiration and appreciation for all he has done for the Credit Union Movement,” he said.
In addition to the two incumbent Board Members being re-seated, Stang welcomed Benson Porter, President/CEO of BECU, to the Board. Benson will be seated at the Association Reorganization Meeting at the MAXX Convention in October.
As these outstanding candidates ran uncontested, a membership vote was not necessary to conclude the 2016 NWCUA election process.
Last year, a new governance model was approved by membership, shifting NWCUA from a district/asset size model to an at-large model of governance. To find out more about the NWCUA Reorganization Meeting or the MAXX Convention, visit nwcua.org/maxx.
