NWCUA Committee Appointments for 2016

New this year is “Operation Relevance 2025,” tasked to execute within the Northwest Credit Union Association’s Policy Advancement Strategy “by designing future solutions for the not-for-profit cooperative financial services option to ensure it is relevant in 2025 and beyond.” The Chairs are Mina Worthington, President and CEO of Yakima-based Solarity Credit Union and Bob Newcomb, CEO of SELCO Community Credit Union in Eugene. The future focused group is challenged with thinking boldly about alternative financial services models, non-traditional providers and future competitors to the credit union model. They will develop policy recommendations for the Governmental Affairs Committees regarding structure, governance, and powers to support financial cooperatives’ relevance and success in the future world of financial services.
“In the Northwest, the important work of our committees and task forces has allowed us to advance policy, raise public awareness, and promote collective action to benefit credit unions and the 5.2 million consumers who have chosen not-for-profit cooperative credit unions as their best financial services partner,” said Troy Stang, NWCUA President and CEO.
In addition to Operation Relevance 2025, other committees, sub-committees and task forces include:
- Awards Committee;
- Washington Governmental Affairs Committee;
- Oregon Governmental Affairs Committee;
- Regulatory Advisory Sub-Committee;
- Defense Fund Oversight Sub-Committee;
- Political Action & Grassroots Advocacy Sub-Committee;
- Value Creation Task Force; and
- Strategic Market Share Task Force.
