NWCUF Grants $11,800 for Spokane Windstorm Relief

The amount of property damage suffered by Spokane-area families in the wake of the November 17 windstorm continues to rise into the millions of dollars. While credit union employees are busy serving their community, the financial burden from their own property lost to storm weighs heavily on their minds.

The Northwest Credit Union Foundation (NWCUF) seeded $5,000 to support credit union employees who suffered property damage in the storm. Credit unions contributed and additional $6,800 to the NWCUF relief fund.

The NWCUF received 71 applications for funds, comprising more than $30,000 in relief requests. With the funds available, the NWCUF was able to assist 61 families in repairing or replacing their losses and getting life back to normal.

“Our member credit unions responded with incredible generosity to their colleagues who needed assistance,” said Jamie Dedmon, Managing Director of the NWCUF. “We are proud to support these committed professionals in recovering from the devastating windstorm.”
