Save Big in 2016: Give Yourself the Gift of Credit Union Membership this Holiday Season

SeaTac, WA—Consumers should take back all the fees other financial institutions charge them, and put that money in their wallets by joining a not-for-profit, cooperative credit union this holiday season.

In Washington, more than 3.4 million consumers have discovered the credit union difference—collectively earning over $280 million in direct financial benefits in the 12 months ending in June, 2015.* Credit union members generally paid lower interest rates on their credit cards, car loans and 15-year mortgages, and earned higher interest on their savings. That’s because as cooperatives, credit unions don’t enrich stockholders. Instead, their members benefit directly from earnings.

Nearly everyone is eligible for membership. The Northwest Credit Union Association or local credit union representatives in your community are available for interviews about why credit union membership makes sense.
