Is Your Brand on Instagram? Millennials Are

Seventy-three percent of Instagram’s audience is between the ages of 15 and 35, says a new white paper from marketing firm Brogan & Partners. Fifty-three percent of 18-29 year olds who use the internet are on Instagram, according figures from the Pew Research Center cited in the report.

That’s a lot of Millennials.

The report shows that Instagram’s users skew slightly female and are dispersed relatively evenly between urban, suburban, and rural areas. It also showed that user incomes are spread evenly across the range from below average to above average.

“If your brand is interested in attracting male and female Millennials and Gen Xers who live just about everywhere and earn a healthy living,” said the report, “lean in to Instagram.”

Brogan & Partners list six key reasons to communicate with your members and audience on Instagram:

  1. Enhance visual marketing;
  2. Increase engagement;
  3. Repurpose content;
  4. Monitor competitors;

The report offers easy guidelines on how to get staxrted on Instagram, how to create great content, and how to engage users.
