Northwest Credit Unions Invited to Learn, Advocate at 2016 CUNA GAC

Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) invite the credit unions of Oregon and Washington to the 2016 Governmental Affairs Conference (CUNA GAC), slated for February 21-25, 2016 in Washington, D.C. CUNA GAC is the premier national event for credit unions, and the largest gathering of credit union advocates rallying on behalf of America’s more than 103 million credit union members.

Representatives from Northwest credit unions not only get access to some of the world’s leading thinkers at CUNA GAC, they also visit federal legislators and regulators to share credit unions’ value and to advocate on behalf of their members.

“Northwest credit unions are known for their strong presence at CUNA GAC, bringing credit union influence to Washington D.C.,” said Troy Stang, President and CEO of the NWCUA. “Our Hill visits during GAC are one of our best opportunities to show federal policy makers how much value and impact credit unions bring to the Northwest, and to America as a whole.”

“Credit union engagement with lawmakers is at the heart of advocacy for the movement,” said CUNA President and CEO Jim Nussle. “At our 2016 CUNA GAC, we will again leverage the unequaled power of our united system to bring thousands of attendees to share the positive impact credit unions provide for all Americans together with our aggressive advocacy agenda.”

Speakers and session topics will be announced in the weeks to come. To register for 2016 CUNA GAC and to learn more about the agenda, networking opportunities, entertainment, and the largest vendor showcase in the financial services industry, visit gac.cuna.org.
