Dave and Dan Classic Raises $757,837 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

First Tech Federal Credit Union and a consortium of credit unions, corporate sponsors, credit union members and celebrities came together to raise $757,837 in support of Credit Unions for Kids, benefitting Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals.

Fundraising efforts culminated on July 13 with the 3rd Annual Dave & Dan Classic golf tournament which shattered last year’s record.

“Heritage Sponsors First Tech Federal Credit Union and OnPoint Community Credit Union, and the entire Oregon and SW Washington credit union community, really outdid themselves at this year’s Dave & Dan Classic,” said Joe Dearborn, Senior Director for CMN Hospitals. “The event is unprecedented among CU4Kids golf tournaments and is one of the top single-day fundraising events among all our corporate partners. More importantly, these funds are critical to providing the best care possible for sick and injured kids. We are truly fortunate to have such wonderful partners like First Tech and the entire credit union community to help insure every child has an opportunity for a healthy and happy life.”

Formerly known as the “Hank and Moose Open,” the tournament has raised more than $4.1 million over the last 15 years. This year’s tournament proceeds will benefit the following CMN Hospitals:

  • Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (Portland, Oregon)
  • PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center (Eugene, Oregon)
  • Seattle Children’s Hospital (Seattle, Washington)
  • Children’s Hospital Oakland (Oakland, California)
  •  UC Davis Children’s Hospital (Sacramento, California)
  •  Children’s Hospital Colorado (Aurora, Colorado)

“It’s heartwarming to see the credit union community band together to support our local children’s hospitals and help ensure that every child receives the future they deserve,” stated Greg Mitchell, First Tech Federal Credit Union President and CEO. “Year after year, we continue to raise record amounts and could not have done it without the support of our corporate sponsors, credit unions, volunteers and friends of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”

The tournament took place at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon. Named after NFL Hall of Fame Inductees Dave Wilcox and Dan Fouts, this year’s event featured 28 celebrity guests including fellow Pro Football Hall of Famers Ronnie Lott, Mel Renfro and Kellen Winslow.
