Donate: Make the Roaring 20s Auction a Lively and Life-Saving Night

Northwest credit unions are quickly approaching one of the most iconic nights of the year. This year’s Credit Unions for Kids Gala and Auction will bring the Roaring 20s to life in Portland, Oregon, and with only two months to go, it’s time to make your donations to make the event a life-changing success.
All proceeds from items donated for auction will support the life-saving work of Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals through Credit Unions for Kids. Last year the auction raised over $200,000, and this year the volunteer planning committee believes that Northwest credit unions can raise $250,000 or more at the October 7 event.
Donations are due by September 18.
“A great auction item is one that appeals to a lot of people and isn’t something they can easily acquire on their own,” said Kym Sajovic, Senior Financial Analyst at OnPoint Community Credit Union and member of the Auction Planning Committee. “People tend to be more willing to bid beyond the value for those items which helps us raise more money for the kids.”
Sajovic says that things like autographed music and sports memorabilia, electronics, group beer or wine tastings, family cultural experiences, flight packages, and the like can create buzz and lead to energetic bidding wars that end up raising extra funds to support the young patients of CMN Hospitals.
Ready to donate? Donations can come in the form of a physical item, cash, gift cards, and gift certificates. For complete donation instructions, please click here and see the Credit Unions for Kids Auction section. Each item needs a completed donation procurement form.
To get your auction item to the event, use one of our convenient drop-off points, mail it to the Washington or Oregon Association office or bring it with you to Amplify. Most importantly, don’t delay. We need to hear from you soon and receive your completed donation procurement form by Friday, September 18.
“Our credit union community has always been so generous with their donations,” said Jamie Dedmon, Managing Director of the Northwest Credit Union Foundation, which hosts the event. “We look forward to a fun evening where some friendly bidding wars will culminate in some serious fundraising to benefit the kids.”
The Roaring 20s Gala and Auction is selling out fast, but if you act now you can still get a table or an individual seat. Several sponsorship opportunities are still available for those who want to stand firmly behind Northwest credit unions’ support of the children of Oregon and Washington.
