It’s not often that you need heat-shielding on a conference stage. But the high-wattage star power that will take the stage on first evening of the 2015 Amplify Convention—and throughout the event—is enough to make us wonder what NASA uses on the space shuttle.
During Amplify’s opening session—which kicks off on the evening of Tuesday, October 6 in Portland, Oregon—several of the most prominent and respected voices in the credit union movement will address the credit union leaders of the Northwest. The opening session alone will include:
- Jim Nussle, President and CEO of CUNA, who will make his first Amplify appearance after taking the reins at CUNA last year;
- Mark Meyer, CEO of Filene Research Institute, who will dare the audience to Think Bold(er).
“This opening session is only taste—a very good taste—of what’s in store for Northwest credit unions during this year’s Amplify,” said Denise Gabel, NWCUA’s Chief Operating Officer.
“From high-level economic and political forecasting to high-energy leadership consulting, Amplify will have value for every credit union leader and advocate who attends. Plus, we are bringing together one of the best groups of credit union business partners ever assembled for the Strategic Link trade show. For three days in October, the best minds and hearts in the financial services industry will be together in Portland, and we can’t wait for you to join us.”
Alongside the Convention and Strategic Link Trade Show, the Northwest Credit Union Foundation will host the annual Credit Unions for Kids Auction and Gala. This year’s theme is the Roaring 20s, and we have it on reliable information that Gatsby himself would envy the night that’s in store.
And of course, the Convention will close with the Amplify Awards Dinner and Gala, during which the year’s most impactful professionals and advocates will be recognized, and one leader will be honored for a lifetime of contributions to the credit union movement. Winners of the regional CUNA awards will be honored as well, and will then be eligible for national honors.
Amplify 2015 runs from October 6 – 8 at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower. We are adding new details on speakers and sessions every week. Click here to see the full agenda and register now.
Join us for the three days that the Northwest credit union movement will be talking about for months and maybe years to come.
