Point West Credit Union recently launched #DriveHope, a campaign that asks their members and community, “What drives you?” The kicker is, every time someone posts an answer on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the #DriveHope hashtag, Point West will donate five dollars to Metropolitan Family Services (MFS), up to a total of $2,500.
Plus, each entry earns the participant a chance to win a $250 VISA gift card at the end of the campaign.
“As a certified Community Development Financial Institution, supporting like-minded organizations that are making a real impact in our community is part of our mission here at Point West,” said Amy Nelson, President and CEO of Point West. “We’re excited to partner with MFS and to bring attention to their great work.”
Through the Ways to Work program, MFS is able to provide low-cost vehicle financing to families so they have reliable transportation for work and are able to get their children to and from school or medical appointments.
“Without Ways to Work, families with limited incomes are only able to secure loans at 30 percent or more,” said Judy Strand, CEO of Metropolitan Family Service. “By offering a low interest car loan in combination with financial mentoring, families are able to get a start in building assets and skills that lead to long-term economic security for themselves and their families.”
The #DriveHope campaign will run through August 31, 2015. To see how the campaign is progressing, please visit facebook.com/pointwest or cafegive.com/DriveHope.
