Foundation Planning Massive Financial Reality Fair Extravaganza

By Amanda Brenneman-Brown

Youth Savings Month in April 2016 may be 10 months away, but here at the Northwest Credit Union Foundation (NWCUF) we’re well underway with some exciting plans! Does the idea of participating in a one day, simultaneous Financial Reality Fair Extravaganza across both Oregon and Washington interest you? What about giving away a college scholarship to one lucky participant at each location?

Thanks to the National Credit Union Foundation’s Experiential Learning Grant opportunity, these plans can become a reality at little or no cost to your credit union! We here at NWCUF are going for the grant and want to add YOUR credit union to our list of credit unions who pledge to participate in the Extravaganza in April 2016.

Don’t currently have our Financial Reality Fair curriculum? That’s okay, this grant will pay for it! Don’t have extra money in the budget to pay for all of the materials and supplies needed to run a fair? That’s okay too, this grant will help with those expenses as well.

We want this Financial Reality Fair Extravaganza to be an amazing opportunity for NW credit unions to support and connect with local communities in the name of financial education. Even more so, we want to help credit unions connect with the younger generation by providing financial education as they step out on their own, and one lucky participant financial assistance to help pay for college! What better way to attract young people than the chance of winning college scholarship money?

So now, you must be asking yourself… Where do I sign up for this?

Simply email Amanda Brenneman-Brown by end of business on Tuesday, July 14th 2015 with your credit union’s intent to participate and your credit union will be included on our Foundation grant application. The more credit union’s who are interested and want to participate, the bigger impact our application makes. Be the hero in the lives of hundreds of young people across our region who need this education and become the superhero to the one in your area who you help send to college.

Don’t delay, email Amanda today at abrenneman@nwcua.org.
