Once every year, the Northwest credit union community gathers for a gala like no other in support of the lifesaving work of the six Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals in Oregon and Washington. Last year, they united as superheroes in Spokane and raised over $200,000.
This year, they will bring the Roaring ‘20s to the City of Roses as the annual Credit Unions for Kids Auction and Gala comes to Portland, Oregon, and takes on the era of Gatsby, jazz and art deco.
The event regularly sells out, so now is the time to reserve your tickets.
“The ‘20s were a time of excess and excitement,” said Jamie Dedmon, managing director of the Northwest Credit Union Foundation. “We’re going to keep the excitement and give Northwest credit unions a chance to practice their favorite kind of excess — excessive generosity towards Credit Unions for Kids.”
The volunteer auction planning committee believes that, this year, the credit unions of Oregon and Washington can raise $250,000 or more for CMN Hospitals.
“Northwest credit unions have been instrumental in the success of Credit Unions for Kids since its inception almost 20 years ago,” said Kelly Schrader, SVP and COO for OnPoint Community Credit Union, who also leads the Ambassador Group and serves on the Board for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.
“For much of that time the auction has been a major fundraiser,” Schrader continued, “and is just one of the many ways credit unions come together to ensure the children treated in the six CMN hospitals in our region have access to the highest level of care. Please join your fellow credit unions again this fall as we come together for a night of fun and giving while making a difference in the lives of children in our community!”
Each year, credit unions donate incredible items and packages to be auctioned off during the live and silent auctions. Click here to access the donation form and make a donation.
“Our Oregon and Washington credit union partners have helped establish the gold standard for collaborating on Credit Unions for Kids events,” said Joe Dearborn, senior director of Credit Unions for Kids, “and this year’s Roaring 20’s Gala at the NWCUA Amplify Convention is no different. It’s really heartwarming to see our credit unions come out in such large numbers to support this event and I know how much it means to the kids and families served by our six CMN Hospitals in the Northwest.”
Those who wish to support the event and the generosity of Northwest credit unions are encouraged to look at the available sponsorships.
