Portland. City of Roses. Land of coffee and beer. Utopia of bridges, beards and bikes. For three days this October, Portland will become the City of Credit Unions when Amplify Convention 2015 comes to the city’s downtown.
“This year’s Amplify is the most exciting yet,” said NWCUA President and CEO Troy Stang. “The Northwest movement is stronger than ever, and is carrying a tremendous amount of momentum and vision into the years ahead. The credit unions in the Northwest continue to demonstrate the value of the not-for-profit cooperative structure in a manner which maximizes the delivery of real, tangible value to their members, and impact across the Oregon and Washington communities. And that is thanks to each and every one of our member credit unions’ boards, and professional staff and management, who work tirelessly in serving their members and their communities. Amplify has proven to be the most exciting venue to bring this important segment of financial services together in one place for a time of celebrating, serving and learning together.”

Over the course of three days — October 6-8 — Northwest credit unions will experience an expansive variety of activities in Amplify 2015 programming. Along with a conference filled with world-class presenters, attendees will enjoy:
- The Amplify Awards Dinner and Gala, which will honor the highest achievements in the Northwest movement. If you haven’t made your nominations yet, click here to do it now.
- The Amplify Trade Show, one of the largest credit union trade shows in the nation, featuring the latest innovations from the best business partners in the industry.
- The Credit Unions for Kids Gala Dinner and Auction, where Northwest credit unions honor the tradition that they started, supporting the lifesaving work of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This year the Auction will recreate the roaring ’20s, with all of Gatsby’s charm. Get your period attire pressed and ready.
And there’s much, much more. Check out the schedule on the Amplify website to see all of the great opportunities to learn, network, and discover new opportunities.
NWCUA Chief Operating Officer Denise Gabel said, “We are gathering some of the best presenters from both inside the credit union world and well beyond to deliver content that is targeted to inspire our members approach and strategies for delivering even more value to their members in the years to come. I am certain everyone will have a reason to go home with a notebook full of scribbles and new ideas. Twitter will light up. And the trade show has been re-invented to fill the ballroom — no wonder business partners have grabbed their space and the show is almost sold out already.” Gabel added, “This year’s Amplify is going to be something special.”
This year, you’ll need to make plans to arrive Monday night or early Tuesday as we kick things off in a whole new way. And we are adding more world-class presenters to the lineup regularly, so register now for the best price and check back often for exciting developments.
