Bikers and Rockers Raise $73,000 for Children’s Hospital

This year’s Ride & Rock event raised $73,000 for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

The roar from this year’s Ride & Rock motorcycle poker run, hosted by Fibre Federal and iQ credit unions, is still reverberating through the Credit Unions for Kids community, as the organizers announced that the event raised $73,000 for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

“I go to sleep at night with a smile on my face knowing the difference this contribution will make to the children and families at Doernbecher,” said Fibre Federal’s CEO, Larry Hoff.

A total of 512 tickets were sold for the 8th annual concert and motorcycle poker run. Fundraising, which included ticket sales, raffles, commemorative bears and blankets, and extra poker run hands, surpassed the goal of $50,000.

Funds will be donated to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital through Credit Unions for Kids. The hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, is known for not turning away any child, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Fibre Federal will present the check to Doernbecher next month, and a cavalcade of motorcycles will present 188 Ride & Rock teddy bears to the hospital.
