OnPoint Collects over $16,000 in School Supply Drive
OnPoint Community Credit Union announced that members and staff raised over $16,000 in cash and supplies during the KGW School Supply Drive. The drive benefits Schoolhouse Supplies, a non-profit that runs Oregon’s only volunteer-run “Free Store” where Portland Public School teachers can get the classroom supplies they need to support their students.
For one week in August OnPoint donated the $10 membership fee for each new account to Schoolhouse Supplies, and each OnPoint branch in the Portland metro area acted as a collection site for supplies and cash donations. The campaign kicked off with OnPoint’s President and CEO Rob Stuart presenting a $5,000 check to Schoolhouse Supplies.
“We raised more money during this supply drive than we ever have, so a big thank you goes to our members and employees who gave generously to help children in our community,” said Stuart.

“As a not-for-profit financial cooperative working every day to improve the financial wellness of our members, we understand how vital affordable, reliable transportation can be to success,” said Amy Nelson, president and CEO at Point West. “We hope these funds will help the Community Cycling Center to continue to build their program and provide transportation to those that most need it in our community.”
