Free lunch and a healthier workplace? What a concept! On September 10, credit union employees are invited to enjoy a free lunch at BridgePort Brew Pub in Portland and to discuss the pursuit of wellness in the workplace. The event, called Wellness Wisdom Lunch + Learn, will be hosted by Hubbub, a company that inspires employees to live healthy lives.
“Sick of boring wellness programs or looking for ideas on starting one?” their invitation asks. “Have lunch on us and find out how your fellow credit unions are achieving wellness success.”
Barbara Cecil, director of HR for Maps Credit Union, will share her experience with Hubbub at the lunch, which starts at 11:30 a.m. “Barbara will share her journey from having no wellness program,” said Tiffini Mueller, Hubbub’s marketing strategy manager, “to starting a small one on her own, to realizing, along with her CFO and CEO, that a holistic, long-term approach is not only good for their employees, it’s good for their bottom line.”
Hubbub is a technology-driven wellness solution for companies that want their employees to “get moving and live healthy.” They tout three major drivers of their program’s success: social circles that let employees share with colleagues and outside friends and family, gamification to turn health choices into fun challenges, and a turn-key incentives engine that lets companies offer customized incentives to their teams.
“Hubbub uses two things we already know people love,” according to the Hubbub website, “social networking and games, to inspire your team members to eat better, get moving, and get healthy.”
Hubbub’s conception of wellness goes beyond diet and exercise to include life balance, social satisfaction, and healthy reflection. This means, says the company, the program has something for everyone.
Hubbub costs only $3 per employee per month, and employees’ family members can join Hubbub for free, so the path to wellness doesn’t stop at office door.
Please RSVP for the event by Friday, September 5.
