The 1.5 million Oregonians who are credit union members saved nearly $80 million last year. That’s good for every family’s wallet and impactful to the economy. The consumers who belong to Oregon credit unions have chosen to do so both because of the affordable financial services they receive, and also because of the positive social impact their locally operated credit unions have on the community.
The credit union DNA is unique. Make no mistake; they offer cutting edge technology and best-in-class financial products to their members. Credit unions, however, are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. That not-for-profit cooperative structure defines who they are and why they do business in a manner that is best for their members. Credit unions are member owned and driven.
