Dave & Dan Classic Sets Fundraising Record

The credit union community raised an estimated $400,000 for Credit Unions for Kids this week, turning out in big numbers and generously supporting the Dave & Dan Classic.

Since First Tech Federal Credit Union’s former CEO Tom Sargent and his team started the traditional tournament years ago, it has raised over $3 million for Credit Unions for Kids. The former “Hank and Moose” event evolved last year to become the Dave & Dan Classic — named for football legends Dave Wilcox and Dan Fouts.

With First Tech Federal Credit Union and OnPoint Community Credit Union carrying the banner as presenting sponsors, a team of other generous contributors, sports celebrities and volunteers pushed the event to new fundraising heights this year. A list of sponsors is available online.

Watch this video to hear from OnPont CEO Rob Stuart, First Tech CEO Greg Mitchell and Hall of Famer Dan Fouts about what drives the tournament success.

Editors’ note: A more detailed article on the event, and a video event with founder Tom Sargent, will be presented in next week’s Anthem.
