Make Your Reservations for Amplify; Speaker Lineup Includes National Political, Marketing and Innovation Experts

Where do lobbyists, members of Congress, corporations and interest groups turn for in-depth information and analysis of the political landscape? The Cook Report is a leading destination for the political cognoscenti. Its editor and publisher, Charlie Cook, is among keynote speakers headlining the Northwest Credit Union Association’s AmplifyTM Convention in Spokane October 7-9.

Cook has been called “one of the best political handicappers in the nation” by the New York Times. Indeed, each online issue includes a complete listing of every potential candidate for the U.S. House, Senate and governors’ races, as well as a rating handicapping the outcome.

Cook’s appearance on the Amplify stage will come just weeks before the 2014 elections, a timely opportunity for credit union professionals to gain insight into whether credit-union-friendly candidates will win or retain offices.

Susan Sachatello, senior vice president, direct to consumer for CUNA Mutual Group (CMG), is another renowned speaker who will take the stage at Amplify. In her role with CUNA Mutual, Sachatello is responsible for consumer products, channels and marketing. She brought a wealth of branding expertise to CMG when she joined the company three years ago. She led the creative, marketing, public relations and e-commerce initiatives at Lands’ End, and held key marketing positions at Limited Brands, where she oversaw consumer favorites such as Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, Express and Limited stores.

Two professors with strong research credentials promise to challenge the way Amplify attendees see consumer products. They are:

  • Punam Keller, a management professor at Dartmouth who is a recognized expert in consumer information processing and choice behavior; and
  • Andy Hines, a lecturer and executive-in-residence at the University of Houston’s Graduate Program in Future Studies, whose goal it is to “infect as many change agents as possible” with his message.

In addition to high-level keynote speakers, Amplify is the year’s top regional showcase of credit union technology. The trade show presented by Strategic Link, is expected to attract over 100 business partners to the convention facilities at the Double Tree by Hilton Spokane City Center.

Two major social events are also planned during Amplify.

Heroes of Hope: A Gala in Spokane City is the annual dinner and auction benefitting Credit Unions for Kids. Information about auction donations and event attendance is available online.

Amplify’s closing event is the annual gala awards dinner during which the Summit Awards will be presented to top credit union professionals, along with the Advocacy, CUNA and Chapter Excellence Awards. Nominations are being accepted online through noon on Sunday, July 20.

Amplify registration and hotel information can be found online as well.
