Vice President of Human Resources

We are in search of a VP of Human Resources to lead the organization’s overall HR Department. Reporting directly to the CEO/President, the ideal candidate will be experienced in Federal and State employment rules and regulations, recruitment and staffing, employee relations, employee development and training, payroll administration, and benefits. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to effectively manage a department of employees, implement objectives from a business plan, be organized and have good communication and written skills. This position is part of the management team and participates in the strategic direction of the credit union.
Responsibilities: To analyze training needs; oversees, develops and administers training plans and procedures, supervises the development of training materials, and conducts or supervises special courses to ensure appropriate levels of training for personnel in operational, supervisory, and management roles. Oversees the recruitment process; administers the Credit Union’s compensation plan and benefits programs; consults with and advises employees on their eligibility for benefits; and oversees the human resources department: hires, trains, directs, coaches and evaluates employee performance.
- Five to ten years of experience
- College degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of human resources functions; training and development; and applicable employment laws
- The ability to motivate or influence others, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Ten-key
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union records
Starting Wage: An excellent and competitive compensation package will be offered to the selected candidate.
FLSA Classification/Hours: Exempt position. Work is based on result attained, not hours worked.
