Branch MSR (Part time)

REPORTS TO:         Operations Manager
GRADE LEVEL:        2
FACILITY:               Beacon Hill Branch at VA Hospital
SUPERVISES:           N/A
FLSA STATUS:         Non-Exempt
STARTING SALARY:  $11.50-13.50 / hour + bonuses + benefits (over 20 hours per week)!
Handles deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashing checks, issuing checks, cash advances, etc.  Has extensive member contact and suggests products and services to meet member needs.  Exercises independent judgment in resolving issues and satisfying members.  

  • Greet members and guests in a professional and courteous manner
  • Verify cash-in and cash-out on cash transactions
  • Accept savings and checking deposits
  • Cash checks and verify cash disbursed
  • Accept and properly apply loan payments
  • Issue checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, and travelers checks
  • Redeem savings bonds
  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Process stop payments, make address changes, and reorder checks
  • Balance cash drawer and daily transactions
  • Answer member questions regarding accounts in person or over the phone and follows through on request
  • Make concentrated effort to solve member problems
  • Promote the Credit Union’s services and cross-sell products
  • Counsel members on savings, savings alternatives, interest rates, and services offered at the Credit Union
  • Provide members with the forms necessary to transact business
  • Strictly adhere to established security procedures
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a financial institution preferred
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in cash handling

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills
  • Ability to perform minor mathematical calculations and collect and analyze data
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to present a positive and professional image to all employees and members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet work deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of banking preferred
  • Knowledge of government and CU banking regulations and procedures preferred
  • Ability to use 10 key
