CO-OP Financial Services Unveils New Mobile Banking System

Today’s credit union members are looking for the most innovative banking technology from their credit union. That’s why the Northwest Credit Union Association is partnering with CO-OP Financial Services to announce a new offering that will help enhance member satisfaction, attract new members and let credit unions keep pace with other financial institutions – no matter what type of mobile device their members use.

CO-OP Mobile allows members to check balances and history, make transfers, make deposits and find nearly 30,000 surcharge-free CO-OP ATMs and 5,000 shared branching locations — all through their mobile devices.

The mobile banking solution offers three mobile-banking access modes. They include text banking, which virtually anyone with a cell phone can use; a mobile Web browser, for richer functionality; and a downloadable application for smart phones. Credit unions can choose to offer one, two or all three modes to their members.

The system supports Mobile Web 2.0 for all smartphones, including iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry devices.

CO-OP Mobile offers benefits such as:

  • No changes to the host or online banking system are generally required;
  • Minimal or no capital investment is required by credit unions;
  • The system can roll out in as little as 60-90 days;
  • Credit union branding to offer a more-personalized member experience;
  • Utilization of industry best practices for security; and
  • Free customizable marketing materials through the CO-OP Marketing Portal.

Also available: My Deposit Mobile, which lets members “snap and deposit” a check from virtually everywhere.
