Sound Credit Union, a dynamic, progressive-minded, state chartered credit union is seeking a highly motivated temporary HR Assistant to perform necessary HR duties with a primary focus on Recruiting, Training, Payroll, and Benefits. Sound Credit Union has over $1B in assets, a membership base of over 100,000, and 21 branches throughout King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston counties. This position is housed at the Corporate Headquarters in Downtown Tacoma.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contribute to the success of the Credit Union by providing superior service according to Sound Credit Union’s Service Promise. Prepare new hire onboarding manuals; ensure manual information is up to date. Initiate new hire paperwork; create new hire personnel files; gather new hire paperwork; ensure paperwork/forms are completed properly and in a timely manner, with proper documentation and signatures. Schedule trainings as assigned; Coordinate logistics; order/pick-up refreshments/lunches, room set-up, equipment, etc. Send FMLA approval/decline notices. Send and ensure timely receipt of FMLA re-certifications. Prepare separation paperwork for departing employees including but not limited to Separation Release and Agreement, Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) notification/documents, 401k distribution information, etc. Pull all files pertaining to separated employees and file accordingly. Respond to/complete forms for Employment Verification for current and former employees.Respond to/provide Jury Duty excuse notices to staff as requested. Update internal phone list monthly.
Administer pre-employment testing when appropriate; follow up with candidate regarding results. Send offer/decline letters as appropriate. Send adverse action notices timely in compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and required.
Qualified candidates must have one plus years’ experience as an Executive/Administrative Assistant. Proficient computer skills and typing skills, with intermediate knowledge/skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook). Two years’ of college instruction in Business or Human Resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be bondable.
