Services for Dolores Fallis Scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16

Dolores F. Fallis, a 27-year veteran of the Inland Empire credit union movement, died Nov. 8. She was 86.

Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Mausoleum at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, Washington.

She was graduated from Lewis & Clark High school in 1945, and attended Kinman Business University. She worked in support of the war effort at Fairchild Air Force Base, and then went to work at Appleway Chevrolet before beginning her credit union career in 1970. Fallis served as the manager of the Inland Empire Paper Employee’s Credit Union, which later became Spokane Media Federal Credit Union. She rose to the position of President and CEO,  where she served until retiring in 1997.

While Fallis’ online obituaries note that she “very much enjoyed a good novel and a glass of scotch,” her passion for the credit union movement was also well-known.  She shared that passion with her family; her son, Jack Fallis Jr., is president and CEO of Global Credit Union in Spokane and a member of the Northwest Credit Union Association board of directors.

In addition to Jack, Dolores Fallis is survived by another son, Larry Knisley; a sister, Avon Pirozok; three grandchildren, Kathy Huston, Sarah Fallis and Patrick Fallis; and a great granddaughter, Brianna Huston.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolores Fallis’ name may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
