Vice President Retail Lending

As a key member of the management team and direct report of the SVP, Chief Lending Officer – Consumer Channels, the VP Retail Lending will be responsible for leading and directing the retail and wholesale consumer lending business, including secured and unsecured loans and Visa cards. The position will also ensure the lending process and loan products are compliant with all applicable regulations. The VP Retail Lending will oversee loans for auto, RV, credit cards, student, collateral, and other lending products.
The position will be responsible for planning and directing all aspects of consumer lending such as policies, procedures, budgets, and objectives. This includes seeking out new sales opportunities for loan products and negotiating terms and conditions within assigned lending authority. Regular on site visits with the Indirect Loan Sales Manager, to both current and potential dealerships, is a job expectation.
The VP Retail Lending will also develop and manage staff of the Underwriting, Processing, and Funding teams while influencing the performance of loan origination and underwriting by acting as a key member of the decision making management team. Collaboration with senior management, the Vice Presidents of Commercial Lending, and the Vice President of Home Loans to achieve short and long term goals will be expected. This position will also work closely with product managers, marketing, financial planning & analysis, ALM, credit risk, information technology, and channel management.
Requirements for the position:
- 8-10 years of consumer and indirect loan operations experience with specific knowledge of loan fulfillment and delivery. Must possess a thorough knowledge of all credit union, state and federal laws regarding lending and a minimum of 5 years management experience.
- Minimum requirements include a degree in finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be a great team leader: professional, alert and honest with an outgoing, enthusiastic approach to member serve and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of service and employee motivation/management.
- Must be able to handle a large volume of detail while organizing the work of others and serving as a motivational, and professional team leader.
Be an active member of the Loan Review Committee. Attend the Asset/Liability meetings as needed.
