Mortgage Lending Manager


School Employees Credit Union of Washington seeks a Mortgage Lending Manager to provide leadership and management of the Mortgage Lending Division to achieve production goals, operational excellence and growth.


  • Recruit, interview and train talent, as well as be pro-active in retaining current employees and managing performance and production goals
  • Promote an effective sales environment through sales training, individual and team coaching
  • Assist the VP of Lending in portfolio management of the real estate and home equity loans
  • Participate in the strategic and budget planning activities
  • Regularly and customarily engaged in business development and loan origination activities outside of the company premises
  • Develop and/or expand existing accounts and ensures that products and services consistently meet member needs
  • Actively develop and maintain a good working relationship with and between all financial partners
  • Act as liaison between other departments/areas of the company
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws/regulatory requirements as related to functional areas including Truth in Lending, Reg B, Reg Z and Bank Secrecy Act


  • Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage loan originator experience required
  • Prior management experience with demonstrated ability to effectively train and develop employees required
  • Knowledge of industry products (home equity, secondary markets, conventional and governmental loans), policies and procedures, underwriting requirements, operations and compliance regulations required
  • Demonstrated experience managing a loan pipeline required
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) required
  • Must qualify for registration with NMLS and S.A.F.E Act registry

Job Conditions

This job requires the ability to use desktop computers. Handle multiple commitments and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work a flexible work schedule as needed. Some travel will be required.
