Collections Supervisor

School Employees Credit Union of Washington is seeking an outstanding leader for our Support Department. We are looking for a working supervisor that understands risk based lending and would be responsible for workouts, short sales, foreclosures and have a good working knowledge of these transactions. This person would be responsible for managing and motivating the team to ensure they consistently deliver quality service to our members and staff. The ideal candidate will have bankruptcy knowledge with proven experience in supervision, understanding delinquencies and charge offs. In addition, proven experience working with collections agencies and negotiating settlements is required.


  • Lead the day to day planning, operation and problem solving for the collections team
  • Coach and develop team members
  • Provide reporting of team performance to management
  • Communicate with members regarding delinquent accounts by telephone and/or written correspondence to negotiate acceptable payment arrangements
  • Counseling members on financial options available; for example loan extension, loan modification, short sale, bankruptcy or foreclosure while providing detailed documentation
  • Produce a variety of reports for management


  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with collections, short sales, foreclosures, and bankruptcies required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience leading or managing a team with increasing levels of responsibility required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current bankruptcy law is required
  • High attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities. Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and to compose original material
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to promote teamwork and build relationships
