A “Real Housewives of Portland” basket, gift certificates to Portland’s trendiest restaurants, and an Arizona Spring Training Vacation are up for grabs at the Boardwalk of Miracles Dinner & Auction benefitting Credit Unions for Kids next month.
Can you top those items? Auction organizers are still accepting donations. The auction will take place Oct. 9, during the Northwest Credit Union Association’s Amplify Convention in Portland.
The evening will be highlighted by a live and silent auction, as well as a semi-formal sit-down dinner. Funds raised will benefit the six Northwest hospitals in the Children’s Miracle Network.
Credit Unions for Kids was founded by credit union leaders in Oregon and Southwest Washington in 1986, a decade before it was adapted nationally and became the credit union movement’s “charity of choice.”
Given the charity’s strong roots in the Northwest, it may not be surprising that credit unions are as competitive donating auction items as they are bidding on them. Some items already donated for the live and silent auctions include:
- A Timberline Lodge Ultimate Getaway;
- A Limited-Edition Lithograph signed by Bo Jackson;
- A movie basket including theater gift cards, home movies and snacks;
- Baby gift baskets;
- And shopping spree gift cards.
The fundraising goal for the event is $100,000. Donation packets are available online.
