Amplify Convention Trade Show: 107 Booths, Live Entertainment and the Chance to Win an iPad!

More than 100 exhibitors will display everything from marketing and communications services to security products and auto-buying solutions at the 2013 Amplify Convention Trade Show. But if that’s not enough to get you to the exhibit hall, how about this: you just might win an iPad.

Convention-goers who attend the Thursday-morning session of the trade show—which includes a free continental breakfast—will get a raffle ticket good for a chance to win an Apple iPad, courtesy of Albers & Company. The winner will be announced at the convention’s general session later that day.

Amplify, the Northwest Credit Union Association’s annual convention, will be held Oct. 8-10 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower (921 SW 6th Ave.; 503.226.1611) in Portland. The trade show will be open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, and from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 10:15-11:30 a.m. Thursday.

“We’ve added a lot of special attractions to the show this year,” says Yuri Jung, NWCUA’s strategic partnership specialist. “There will be a Recharge Station, where visitors can relax while they charge their electronic devices. We’ll also have two Internet Kiosks, where they can access the Web and print documents.”

This year’s trade show will also feature live entertainment. There’ll be music from Portland guitarist and vocalist Michael Blake at the Wednesday session, and singer and television host Bernard Lachance, an Amplify keynote speaker, will sign special convention T-shirts and copies of his music CDs.

The heart of the show, though, is the sold-out exhibit hall, where 107 booths will give attendees an up-close look at marketing and communications services, leadership training, lending, card-processing, insurance and security products, auto-buying solutions, and much more.

Here’s an example of what you’ll find:

  • Looking for new and effective ways to add non-interest income to the bottom line? CU Solutions Group (Booth 80) will highlight several options, including the Sprint Credit Union Member Discount, which has already saved credit union members $312 million on 1,165,136 activations; and the Credit Union Auto Club, a roadside-assistance plan that offers credit union members a low-cost, high-quality service from more than 38,000 providers nationwide.
  • In the market for insurance, retirement, or investment products? CUNA Mutual Group (Booth 78) will shine its spotlight on SmartPhone Loans, Loanliner.com technology, and the new AskAuto app, which allows members to get vehicle information, compare notes, and apply for a credit union loan while still on the car dealer’s lot.
  • Would your car-buying members like someone else to do the legwork for them? Autoland, Inc. (Booth 92), a leading provider of auto-purchasing services for members and direct auto loans for credit unions, will explain how it can leverage its expansive auto network and buying power to find virtually any make and model at a great value for your members. All buyers really need to do is decide whether to take delivery of the vehicle at home, work or nearest credit union office.
