Performs a variety of duties in the soft collection of delinquent accounts while forming long lasting relationships with our members. Helps create debt management plans, works with small claims, garnishments, bankruptcies, and recoveries. The chosen individual must be able to work independently with little supervision and also effectively within a group. Must have knowledge of current laws pertaining to collections and bankruptcies.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent verbal communication and member service skills necessary for telephone collection inquiries and resolution
  • Excellent written communication skills; proficient use of grammar and demonstrated ability in business form and letter writing
  • Execute tasks with accuracy, neatness and confidentiality
  • Must be detailed oriented; handling multiple tasks at one time
  • Must consistently communicate the Credit Union’s philosophy of “people helping people” through positive approach in all member relations
  • Reliable attendance; punctuality
  • Must be goal oriented

Education and Experience Required:

  • Familiarity with Credit Union Compliance/NCUA Regulations and other laws applicable to financial institutions
  • Minimum high school graduate, additional education in related field preferred
  • Must have previous collection experience
