NWCUA Board Members Selected
July 30, 2013
July 30, 2013
The nomination and election process has concluded, determining which credit union executives will fill five open positions on the 11-member Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) Board of Directors.
The candidates for open positions on the NWCUA board met the board member and eligibility requirements. Their nominations were not contested, so an election process was not required.
Returning to service on the board is Mina Worthington, president/CEO of Solarity Credit Union. Worthington was a member of the inaugural NWCUA board and returns to represent her credit union colleagues in District 3. St. Helens Community FCU CEO Brooke Van Vleet will fill the District 4 vacancy created by the resignation from the board of Jean Wheat-Palm. Parker Cann, SVP/general counsel for BECU, will become the new board member representing large asset-sized credit unions. Current board members Thomas Griffith, CEO of Pacific NW FCU and Bert Fisher, president/CEO of Our Community Credit Union, were also not challenged in their reelection bids, and will continue representing Districts 5 and 7, respectively.
Worthington, Griffith, Fisher, and Cann will serve terms expiring in 2016. Van Vleet’s term expires in 2015. New board members officially begin service following the Annual Business Meeting at Amplify Convention in Portland October 8, 2013. They will join the following current board members:
- Debie Keesee, CEO of Spokane Media FCU, Small Asset Category Chairman
- Bob Newcomb, president/CEO of SELCO Community CU, District 1
- Jack Fallis, president/CEO of Global Credit Union, District 2
- Phil Jones, president/CEO of Harborstone Credit Union, District 6
- Terry Belcoe, president/CEO of North Coast Credit Union, District 8
- Shirley Cate, president/CEO of Providence FCU, Medium Asset Category
