Foundation Board to Welcome Two New Members

The Northwest Credit Union Foundation (Foundation) will welcome two new board members this fall.

Harborstone Credit Union’s Carlene Joseph has won election representing District 6. She is filling the remaining two years of the term vacancy created by the retirement this summer of Fibre Federal Credit Union’s Lesley Carrell.

The nominations of three credit union professionals were not contested, eliminating the need for an election. Janell Saavedra, lending support manager for Northwest Community Credit Union, will be new to the Foundation board, and will represent her colleagues in District 1. Continuing board service is Maps Credit Union’s Jill Nowacki in District 4 and Valley Credit Union’s Stephen Pagenstecher, representing credit unions in the Medium Asset Category.

Saavedra and Joseph officially begin service to the board on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, during the Amplify Convention in Portland.

The Foundation has become one of the largest credit union foundations in the national movement. It awards both professional development grants and supports credit union community development projects promoting social impact.

More information about the Foundation can be found online.
