The CFPB Released Mortgage Rule Readiness Guide

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published the 2013 CFPB Dodd-Frank Mortgage Rules Readiness Guide.

The Guide, issued Monday, July 8, 2013, is designed to help financial institutions come into and maintain compliance with the new mortgage rules that the CFPB published back in January of this year.

The Guide consists of four parts:

  • Part I, Summary of the Rules
  • Part II, Readiness Questionnaire
  • Part III, Frequently Asked Questions
  • Part IV, Tools

The Summary of the Rules is designed to provide a high level overview of the rule and not in depth information that can be found in either the rules or their official interpretations.

The Readiness Questionnaire is intended to serve as a guide in preparing for the implementation, and the Tools are web links to further information and other tools designed to assist in complying with the new rules.
