Northwest Community Moving Headquarters to Downtown Eugene

Northwest Community Credit Union broke ground on a state-of-the-art new headquarters building this week, in a development that will relocate the headquarters from Springfield to downtown Eugene, Ore.

The 81,000 member credit union’s new facility will include corporate headquarters, a full-service financial branch and will also offer centrally located meeting facilities to community groups.

“We’re looking forward to introducing more than a corporate headquarters downtown,” said John Iglesias, president and CEO. “Our new support Center will be a community hub for small business support and financial services to our members and to all residents of Eugene, Springfield, Lane County and beyond.

The new building will be located at the corner of 8th Avenue and Ferry Street, with completion targeted in late 2014. It will feature a ground-floor public meeting room and an adjacent courtyard, as well as retail space for rent along the high-traffic 8th Avenue.

The 68,000 square foot headquarters will be four stories. The credit union is attempting to achieve LEED Silver certification. Northwest Community currently employs 150 people, but a news release issued by the credit union notes capacity to expand to more than 300 employees.
