NWCUF Board of Trustees Election Process Underway

Four positions are available on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Three positions are for professionals working in credit unions based in geographic districts one, four and six. The fourth seat is available by Foundation board appointment to a candidate working at a midsized credit union with assets between $26 million-$110 million. Candidates must fill out Declaration of Candidacy form for either the district or asset based seats by close of business May 24, 2013.

On June 24 the Foundation Nominating Committee will review and recommend the candidates to the Foundation Board.

The NWCUF is a 503(c)(3) organization funds programs supporting the efforts of Northwest credit unions leaders and their communities.

According to Foundation governance information, the trustees’ responsibilities include:

  • Acting as fiduciary and guardians of the NWCUF assets.
  • Reviewing and approving the budget.
  • Establishing short and long-term goals and assessing progress towards the goals.
  • Setting policies for the management and operation of the Foundation.

As one of the largest credit union association foundations in the national movement, we have a huge opportunity in front of us to lift and amplify the impact of our Northwest credit unions and connect our stories to the greater community at every level from grassroots to policy. We hope to encourage candidates with nonprofit experience, deep community networks and a passion for credit union engagement to step forward and consider this opportunity and join our forward-thinking board to help the Foundation drive credit union impact throughout the Northwest region.
