HORIZON CREDIT UNION is a growing financial institution with 18 locations in WA, ID and MT, and is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Dept in Spokane Valley.
SUMMARY: Knowledge with financial accounting principles, balance sheets and income statements. Responsible for managing investments, fixed assets and supporting or leading various projects. Position will utilize spreadsheets and data to assist in making decisions for the accounting department. Work is performed under minimal supervision and requires professionalism, discretion and confidentiality. Will work in conjunction with the accounting team to assure required timelines are met for the department.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: To be considered for this position, applicants should have at least 3 years of experience, coupled with a college degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Related work experience may substitute for education or may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Must have experience with general ledger accounting, managing fixed assets and investments, strong analysis skills, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, balancing commercial bank statements, and cost accounting principles. Prefer prior Credit Union or Financial Industry accounting experience.
