Credit Unions Outscore Banks in Customer Experience Survey

For the second year in a row, credit unions took first place in a poll measuring consumer experiences in the banking industry.

The Temkin Experience Ratings measured experiences of 10,000 American consumers at 246 companies in 19 industries. Credit unions had a 79% satisfaction ranking, leading in the functional and accessible components. 

However, the survey finds banks posting the biggest improvements of any industry between 2012 and 2013, gaining 3.4 percentage points.

The highest ranking bank, USAA, earned a 78% rating while the lowest rated bank, HSBC scored at 57%.
