Our credit union is participating in the Sprint Program with Invest in America (IIA). We have been extremely pleased with the non-interest revenue we have generated through this partnership and would like to ensure the continued success of this program. Do our members need to verify themselves as credit union members to continue receiving the monthly discount on their cell phone bill?

Yes. This hasn’t always been the case, but in order to receive the Sprint Credit Union Member Discount, both new and existing Sprint customers must verify credit union membership. Members can do this using the Invest in America smartphone app or by filling out a Verification Form, which can be faxed or uploaded. iPhone users will find the app available as a free download in the Apple App Store, while Android users can download the app in the Android Market at no charge. Just search for “Invest in America.”

The amount Sprint pays annually to participating credit unions is based on the total number of verified credit union members receiving the IIA discount, so ensuring that all members have completed the simple verification process also ensures that your credit union is maximizing its revenue.
