Barron’s Again Recognizes Gary Tantleff Among Nation’s Top Financial Advisors

Gary Tantleff, managing director of investments for the Credit Union Advisory Group (CUAG) at UBS Financial Services, was recognized for the third time this year as one of Barron’s “Top 1000 Financial Advisors,” and for the first time ever, he was named the top financial advisor in the state of New Jersey.

“Gary has been a longtime supporter of the credit union movement,” said James Sheehan, director and branch manager for UBS. “He has been a regular fixture at annual conventions and countless other credit union events. His team, the Credit Union Advisory Group at UBS, recognizes the importance of earning clients’ trust through integrity and reliability. His experience and focus on credit unions allows him to provide insights and timely solutions that are most relevant to their unique needs. We could not be more proud of Gary and his accomplishments.”

In more than 27 years in the business, Tantleff’s client retention rate stands at greater than 95 percent, and the vast majority of those clients are credit unions looking for investment guidance. Tantleff offers that guidance using the same philosophy of proactive defense that made him a three-time All-American soccer goalie in college.

“A lot of things you learn on the athletic field apply to your day-to-day approach in staying focused and working hard,” Tantleff said.

With nearly all of the client assets he manages in fixed income, safeguarding investments becomes even more important to Tantleff’s clients. To guard against an eventual rise in interest rates, Tantleff said he is currently focused on securities that mature in three to seven years or less.

“These are truly remarkable times we are in,” he said. “There’s no blueprint for this.”

The nationally recognized Credit Union Advisory Group brings more than 80 years combined financial services experience and is solely focused on providing opportunities and insights to the credit Union industry. They are an experienced team of fixed-income professionals who have a thorough understanding of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) rules and regulations, including part 703. In addition to their advisory services they offer free safekeeping and lines of credit through UBS financial Services Inc.
