Our Community’s Bert Fisher Chosen to Represent District 7 on NWCUA Board

Bert Fisher, president and CEO of Our Community Credit Union, has joined the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) board of directors as the District 7 interim director, filling the seat vacated in November by Prevail Credit Union President and CEO Tom Graves, who resigned his position last November in anticipation of Prevail’s merger with Harborstone Credit Union.

The Association board chose Fisher from a field of qualified nominees to represent District 7 from now until the Annual Business Meeting in October of this year. District 7 encompasses much of Washington’s Puget Sound region, including all of Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason and Grays Harbor Counties, as well as much of King County.

Fisher joined the Our Community staff seven years ago, serving for the past two as president and CEO.

“I have believed in the credit union movement since the first day I walked into Harborstone Credit Union 15-plus years ago,” Fisher wrote in his application. “I believe I can bring value, make a difference and contribute to finding solutions to the challenges we face as individual entities and as a movement as a whole.”
