V.P. Operations/Assistant Manager

Lower Columbia Longshoremen’s Federal Credit Union, a $59 Million full service credit union located in Longview, Washington is currently seeking a full time V.P. of Operations/Assistant Manager.  This position is responsible for the supervision of all operational staff and operational functions of the credit union. 

The successful candidate must have 7 years of current financial institution experience with at least 5 in progressive supervisory/management positions.  Candidate must have a high degree of self motivation, self confidence, accuracy, and organizational skills.  Must have experience in personal computers and proven problem solving skills.  Experience with all operational departmental functions is highly desirable.  Competitive salary and benefits package including 401K.

Position Description:

FLSA Classification:  Exempt
Reports To:  Credit Union Manager

Position Functions:

  • Recommend policies, and procedures to assist the credit union in meeting its goals and objectives. 
  • Provide the Manager with information and reports regarding progress made and results achieved.
  • Supervision of all operational staff, including evaluation of the same.
  • Recommend hiring, disciplinary and termination actions to the manager as necessary.
  • Responsible for the training and education of all operational staff.
  • Communicate and problem resolution with all operational vendors including but not limited to data processing, ATM/debit card, IRA administrator, share draft processor and corporate banking arrangements.
  • Communicate and problem resolution with members involving operational services.
  • Act in the capacity of the Manager in the absence of same, including supervision of all credit union staff and communications with the Board of Directors and Volunteers.
  • Scheduling of office staff to provide adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Responsible for member marketing of the credit union and knowledge of all services offered, to a degree that will enable assistance of the member personally, or by referral.
  • Responsible for accurately maintaining a change fund drawer.
  • Perform other specific duties, as assigned, in the capacity of back up, in the absence of the responsible employee.

Position Qualifications:

Working Conditions:

  • Monday through Friday schedule with occasional nights and weekends required.
  • Occasional travel required for training, education and Strategic Planning Sessions.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
