Temporary Contract Branch Representative

We are currently seeking a Temporary Contract Branch Representative, who will provide effective and efficient service to our membership in all operations while following Credit Union policies, procedures, and guidelines.  This temporary assignment will last 6 to 9 months and as a temporary employee, you will not be eligible for any benefits.  The hourly rate of pay is $15.00 per hour.

The applicant needs to have exemplary customer service skills, be flexible, dependable and have the ability to jump in where most needed.  You must be very organized, detailed, and computer literate, with excellent multi-tasking skills.  We are looking for a quick learner and a “go getter” with a lot of enthusiasm and energy!  The applicant must be positive, self motivated, and able to see what needs to be done on their own and take care of things that need to be accomplished.

Essential Job Functions

  • Processes all member transactions.
  • Supports, promotes and cross-sells Credit Union products and services and maintains average product sales in accordance with {branch/department} goals.
  • Provides information and applicable forms concerning products and services.
  • Interviews members to analyze and determine members’ needs.
  • Balances at end of each business day.
  • Maintains required records.
  • May serve as a loan officer.
  • Answers incoming phone lines and, if necessary, directs calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Converts qualified referrals to new business in accordance with supervisor goals.      
  • Provides a high quality level of service based on our service standards and goals.
  • For the purpose of maintaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Direct exposure to robbery.
  • Work is performed in an office environment. 
  • May be required to attend off-hours and off-site meetings.
  • Physical effort may be required to lift bags of coins, supplies such as boxes of copy paper, transaction receipts, computer paper, and checks up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge

  • Education or job knowledge equivalent to high school education.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit union history and its philosophy preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum six months cashiering experience.
  • Recent sales and customer service experience, with a strong emphasis in sales. 
  • At least one year experience on the platform / lending side.

Skills & Abilities

  • Accurate 10-key skills and keyboarding/typing skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with tact, discretion, and courtesy within and outside the organization.
  • Good organizational and filing skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Ability to handle stress in a high volume and fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain very satisfactory attendance.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
