Attention Marketers: Submit Your Best Work to Spectrum Awards Program

Bank transfer day, the slow economic recovery, increased credit union awareness, low net promoter scores for banks and advanced technology for members. Those are but a few of the opportunities and challenges leveraged by credit unions in the past 18 months.

The most creative and effective marketing of those and other events and programs will be captured in the 2013 Spectrum Marketing Awards program. The call to entry is open through March 4, 2013, but credit unions submitting entries by Feb. 15 will receive a $15 discount per entry. Pricing is based on credit union asset size.

“A committee of Northwest credit union marketers helped us to better define our categories this year,” said Lynn Heider, vice president of public relations and communications for the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA). “Everything from annual and sustainability reports to favorable news coverage and digital marketing will be honored. We’re particularly pleased to offer a one-time Bank Transfer Day category, as we know most of our credit unions made special efforts around the opportunities that brought for membership growth.”

All entries will be submitted online, making the entry process turnkey for credit unions.

“Marketers wanting to get an idea as to what kinds of projects get judges’ attention can visit our online gallery from the 2011 awards program,” Heider said. “It’s an excellent resource.”

The awards will be presented at a gala dinner during the annual Marketers’ Conference, scheduled to take place this year on May 8-9 at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland, Ore. A program of national-level speakers is being finalized, according to Nancy Pullen, senior director of training and development for the NWCUA. Conference registration is available online.
