Rivermark Continues Sweet Fundraising Tradition Through ‘Dough for Doernbecher’

Each year, Rivermark Community Credit Union partners with the Doernbecher Foundation and the Safeway Clackamas Bread Plant to produce five-pound bags of sugar cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough. Perfect for holiday baking, the dough is then sold to the public in the days leading up to the holiday season.
As if that sweet tradition of selling sweets weren’t enough, Rivermark turns that simple idea into a community-wide fundraiser for a local children’s hospital. All ingredients for the cookie dough are generously donated by local vendors, and all proceeds benefit Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Ore.
A Delicious Deal for a Great Cause
This year, five-pound bags of sugar cookie dough are available for $7, with bags of chocolate chip cookie dough selling for $9. A standard 16.5-ounce tube of refrigerated cookie dough costs between $2 and $5 at typical retail prices. Dough for Doernbecher offers five full pounds for only a couple dollars more—a savings of up to $13.
The deadline to join the cause and place an order is Thursday, Nov. 29. Orders can be placed in one of two ways:
- Order online through Rivermark’s website.
- Visit a Rivermark branch location in Beaverton, Portland, Gresham, The Dalles or Maupin, Ore.
- Call Rivermark and place an order over the phone at 503.626.6600.
Dough pickup will be available at the Newberg branch and at the Safeway store located in Gladstone on 82nd Drive.
