Successful Miracle Jeans Day Sets Stage for Follow-Up Festivities at Convention

Each and every day, kids are treated for injuries and illnesses of all kinds at Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Donations provide hope and healing for thousands of children in communities across the country, and through Credit Unions for Kids, credit unions have been among the most consistent, prolific supporters of CMN Hospitals for the better part of two decades.

That support gets a boost from coordinated fundraising events like September’s Miracle Jeans Day, a nationwide fundraiser for Credit Unions for Kids to benefit CMN Hospitals.

“Miracles are happening for families in Oregon and Washington,” said Felicity Guerin, Credit Unions for Kids liaison for the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL), “thanks to your support.”

Across the country, 526 credit unions and 22 leagues took part in Miracle Jeans Day, marking a significant jump from the 322 credit unions in 2011. Thirty of those credit unions were from Oregon and Washington, including the following 19 from Oregon and 11 from Washington:

Submitting Funds

Once credit unions have collected donations, they can submit them online with a credit card or simply download the donation submittal form, which includes mailing instructions, and send it in with the check. CMN Hospitals have requested that all Miracle Jeans Day funds be submitted within two weeks of Miracle Jeans Day so they can put the donations to work as soon as possible.

Up Next: Credit Unions for Kids’ Holiday Icon Campaign

Save the date for Credit Unions for Kids’ third and final national campaign for 2012.  From Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, credit unions are encouraged to provide members the opportunity to display their name on a winter-themed paper icon in exchange for a dollar donation to their local CMN Hospital.  Click here for more information or to order icons.

Miracle Jeans Day at Convention

Wednesday, Oct. 3, has been dubbed Miracle Jeans Day at Convention, a day for the Northwest credit union community to band together in support of Credit Unions for Kids. For just a $20 donation, attendees will receive a fundraising T-shirt custom designed by SnoCope Credit Union’s Jennifer Ream, along with the opportunity to spend hump day at Convention in their favorite pair of jeans, building on the national Miracle Jeans Day effort that took place in early September and leading into that evening’s Credit Unions for Kids auction.

Credit union professionals in the Northwest still have time to register for the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) 2012 Convention and Annual Business Meeting, the region’s premier gathering of leaders in the credit union movement.

This year’s Convention boasts an array of speakers and presenters as innovative and thought-provoking as the Northwest credit union community itself. Keynote speakers include Neil Goldman, senior partner of Goldman Consulting & Strategy, Inc.; Arnold Kuijpers, director of corporate affairs for Rabobank Nederland; and Jeff Russell, who serves as senior advisor for The Members Group, president and CEO of TMG Financial Services, and chief strategy officer for Affiliates Management Company. More details on all three speakers and their sessions can be found online.

Complete registration information can be found online, along with the full agenda, details about speakers, presenters, sessions and networking opportunities, and information about participating in the tradeshow.
