Loss Prevention Specialist I or II

Maps Credit Union in Salem, OR has an full time opening in our Loss Prevention Department for a Loss Prevention Specialist I or II. The successful candidate will have 1 -3 years of previous financial industry experience, with a concentration in the areas of collections and/or lending/credit. Business-related (i.e., accounting, finance, management, economics), college-level courses or combination of experience and Credit Union or financial industry-specific training is important. Also required are demonstrated communication skills in order to communicate effectively with members, vendors and coworkers; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
Essential Functions of the position include: Resolve negative share accounts and delinquent loan accounts with a high level of expertise and measurable success; keep accurate and current records of all collection activity (e.g., correspondence with members, actions taken for recovery of past due accounts); perform all duties and responsibilities associated with collection functions including; collection agency files, negative share accounts, the courtesy pay overdraft program, fraud, repossessions, charge off reviews, small claim and bankruptcy proceedings, garnishments, the CPI program, documentation, correspondence, and department reports. Monday- Saturday availability also required
