Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union is currently seeking an experienced individual to fill our Information Services Specialist position at our Downtown location.  SMCU just might be the place for you!! Check out our website at, to learn more about SMCU and our philosophy. Role at SMCU

Installs and maintains workstation hardware and software.  Troubleshoots workstation hardware and software problems.  Supports workstation and network security policies and procedures.  Installs new workstations and users.  Performs workstation backups and data recovery. Provides basic Core System troubleshooting. Fills in other roles as needed to support progression to ISS2.

Essential Job Functions

  • Workstation support
  • Workstation data backup
  • Installs, tests, and maintains data equipment, including but not limited to workstations, other hardware, wiring, installation, testing, repair, and preventive maintenance
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and other computer reporting
  • Develop written Workstation procedures and keeps them current
  • Customer and management assigned projects
  • Contributes to maintaining the department’s Internal Service Survey satisfaction ratings in accordance with credit union goals by providing high quality service based on our service standards • Resolve login issues (locked accounts or forgotten passwords)
  • Assist users directly regardless if a service call was placed or not
  • Setup meeting rooms for webinars or presentations • Resolve user issues assisting via remote connection
  • Demonstrate effective service interactions using the Service Interaction and Handling Objectives Model.

Other duties may be assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Indirect exposure to robbery
  • Travel to outlying branches to perform essential duties
  • May be required to work extensive overtime hours (early mornings, late nights, and weekends. Regular Saturday hours, as required and other weekend hours)
  • Scheduled hours subject to change
  • May be required to attend off-hours meetings and seminars
  • Required to observe and practice safety procedures at all times
  • May be required to travel



  • Prefer Associate of Arts degree
  • Prefer A+, MCP, MCSE or MCSD
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of computer equipment and network hardware
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of printing equipment
  • Intermediate knowledge of workstation imaging software
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of tasks performed within data processing / Information Services department Skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • One year of relevant computer or network experience, may substitute one year of electronic technical school in PC or related equipment
