Miracle Jeans Day at Convention: Do These Jeans Make My Credit Union Look Good?

The Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) Convention and Annual Business Meeting is known as being a yearly meeting point for credit union leaders in the Northwest, a time for high-level discussions, professional development and networking. But this year, the Association is encouraging attendees to ditch the heels, the ties, and the jackets, and ask one simple question:

Do these jeans make my credit union look good?

Wednesday, Oct. 3, will be Miracle Jeans Day at Convention, a day for the Northwest credit union community to band together in support of Credit Unions for Kids. For just a $20 donation, attendees will receive a custom-designed fundraising T-shirt—along with the opportunity to spend hump day at Convention in their favorite pair of jeans.

The T-shirt was designed by Jennifer Ream of SnoCope Credit Union in Everett, Wash., and will be available from now through Convention. However, to be guaranteed a specific size, attendees must pre-register by Monday, Aug. 13.

Of course, the fun—and the fundraising—doesn’t just end when the clock strikes five. The Miracle Jeans theme extends into the night, as the Denim and Diamonds Credit Unions for Kids Auction is scheduled to take place Wednesday evening.

While the auction itself is part of a long-standing tradition in the Northwest, this year’s theme will mark a bit of a departure from past events, which have typically taken the form of a formal, sit-down dinner. While certainly not required, attendees at this year’s auction are invited to take a more casual approach and stick with the day of denim motif.

NWCUA Senior Vice President of Member and Business Development RoxAnne Kruger said that she hoped this year’s event would draw that much more attention to Credit Unions for Kids, as well as to encourage further participation in the national Miracle Jeans Day promotion, scheduled for Sept. 12, that inspired the theme.

The Credit Unions for Kids Auction is a great way for credit unions to support their regional children’s hospital by donating auction items. Download the Auction Donation Packet today for more details.
